Boone Kemp (top left) and six of his World War II
shipmates gathered together last week for their ship
reunion in Branson, Missouri. The USS Dyson (DD572), a
destroyer built in Orange, Texas, served throughout the
Pacific Ocean, from the South Pacific to Okinawa. This
warship served with other destroyers in what was known
to "Tokyo Rose" as the "Little Beaver" squadron. After
the ship reunion was over, Boone, his son David and wife
Ginger of Austin, spent a few more days in Branson
attending some of the well-known shows and celebrating
Boone's 87th birthday.
